budgerigars are creatures of habit they will eat the food their parents reared them on.why will they not eat the tasty fruit because they do not eat fruit and like all birds only have on average 25-70 taste buds compared to humans who have about 10,000,but they tend to swallow the seed whole so they have no need to taste it.the look and feel of a food is more important than taste to a bird.we breeders use to give lettuce, carrot and cress.
the lettuce if left in the cage overnight will cause intestinal problems to the birds.carrots washed and cut lenght ways into quarters may be accepted and are very benifical.cress we fed still growing in little punnets until i lost a bird or two and discovered little balls of polystrene in the compost which the birds would eat and then die with obstructed intestines.wellcome to the world of budgerigars but do purchase a book and be guided by it's contents.

Keep offering fresh food to them. I had budgies and they ate everything I fed my larger birds and seed was not a large part of their diet. They don't realize it is food when they do and they get used to it being in their food dish they might eat it.
It is hard to get a bird to eat something strange to them and they may never eat it. I would still keep trying.
Good luck :o)

attempt blending a million/3 cockatiel pellets with 2/3 seed. it is somewhat extra healthy than all seed. grant some finely chopped confusing boiled egg, yet whilst not long previous after an hour throw away. attempt chinese language pea pods (purely a pair) that have been washed and hung up of their cage. attempt UN-salted peanuts in the shell...they prefer to artwork at getting them out! shop attempting the culmination and vegetables...ultimately they are going to take them. additionally an occasional handle of millet spray (a million X week) would be like candy to them! stable luck!

Be sure to give them bird seed that is fortified with vitamins and minerals and please do not worry. When it comes to food budgies are no different than us...they have their own likes and dislikes. I have a parakeet that does not eat fruit, and he only likes carrots and broccoli.

Thye eats seeds because that is what budgies eat in the wilds. They are basically seed eaters. They are ground feeders.

Leave them be. They're fine. Keep offering a little, maybe they will find something they like.
Try not to worry.
