I use Virtual Drive to put all my family's games on the harddrive so they don't have to put a CD in every time they want to play a game. However, I think it's about time to set up another User Account for my 5-year old (she already knows what she's doing on the PC - scary!!) and want to make things as easy as possible for her. I could put her game icons on the desktop, but you'd still need to load a VCD before you clicked on the game icon anyway.

Having blabbered about all that now, my question is, can Windows XP record and playback macros and if so, easily and how? If not, is there any third-party software that would make it easy to do this, and possibly save a macro as an icon for the desktop so all she'd have to do is click on the icon, it would love the VCD, and then start her game automatically for her?

Thanks,
Ron

I can see a solution using Java, but you probably don't want to mess with that. Or, if you were Linux, a shell script. But both of those ideas require script and debugging.

M$ Word comes with macros, but you want desktop macros. It takes third party.

So, I googled on the web. www.macro.com -- $39

www.download.com had some trialware, search macro
