Pay attention to the things the teacher emphasizes in class including discussion topics, questions that are asked and answered, terms that are defined, and anything that is written on the board or given out on handouts. Also, in your textbook, note all the items that are in bold print. Learn all of the different terms. Review all the subject headings and notes in boxes or in the margins.

A helpful way to study is to take a piece of notebook paper and fold it in half lengthwise, so that you have a left and a right side of the paper. On the left list all of the terms, draw out any diagrams the teacher draws on the board, write questions that you have or that were asked in class. On the right hand side, next to each of these items, write the definitions for the terms, explanations for the diagrams, answers to the questions. To study fold the paper so that you can only see the left side and make sure that you can say the right side without peeking. Then switch, looking only at the right side. Practice until you have the information memorized from both directions.

look over all notes you've taken, review vocab, reread the chapters you read in class, and look over worksheets and redo any problems you may have missed.
Good Luck!
