If it is not opened you can not get sick from it..but maybe if its opened ...but it just loses the carbonation.

Hey, give the girl a break.

Assuming it's unopened of course, it's probably not worth the risk. One simple test is if it tastes funny, it's not safe to eat/drink, but this test pertains more to fresh food because any danger in the pop may be masked by the sweetness because it contains much sugar.

If it's in a metal can or in a glass bottle, it will likely still have its fizz. The plastic bottles lose their fizz after a time.
You'll not get sick.

It will be ok but if it tastes off to you then chuck it but you won't get sick.
