I heard from a friend that coffe was bad for a singer's voice. I really hope this is not true because I am a coffee-addicted singer! If anyone could please shed some light on this rumor, it would be greatly appreciated.

Been a professional singer for more than two decades on all-coffee (double espresso) regimen the whole time, from waking up to after-gig wind-down...never did me harm. I guess, as with most things, the key is always moderation. But particularly with coffee, the secret is a better-than-average daily dental habits and periodic dental prophylaxis.

I've never tried signing and drinking coffee at the same time, though. That, I'm sure would be extremely bad for the voice, for the self-esteem, and the lady seated out front.

I dont reallly know, but i think that it is not a goood idea. Maybe you should cut down on the coffe, and have like 4 cooffes a week. Are you like a good singer, famous, becauuse if you are then you should definitly cut down.

I am a singer and coffee addict. Coffee, because of the caffeine,
constricts the vocal cords and drys them out. If you drink coffee, don't drink it WHILE you are singing, and be sure to drink plenty of water to keep your vocal cords moist and loose.

I think so. I'm a good singer. I'd never drink coffee. I've always been this good and never drank coffee.

I would assume so. Most likely, just drink tea or something that would not affect your throat. Also, rubbing your vocal cords around your mandible, supposedly, helps.

Coffee takes a toll on your body and singers can't afford to pay the price...
