This might be illegal but I heard that with a hammer, a hard steel nail, and a quarter. You can actual use the nail as a drill hammer a hole into it then put a small string through the hole. In the days when arcades were king & games were a quarter, some of the smarter kids did this with thread to get their quarters back. You could theorictically play games all day. If not caught.

If it's for protection, you'll need to drill a hole. Make sure the drill bit can be used on metal. Tape the coin in place with see-thru tape. Then drill right through the tape into the coin. Make sure the coin is on a surface that's okay to drill into.
