Last night when I went to bed I realized the front of my left leg, from below the knee to about 4 inches above my ankle, was mostly numb. I thought I would just sleep it off and it would be fine, but it's the same this morning. However, my left arm is very achy this morning and my left hand is a little weak. I know I slept on that arm last night, so I'm wondering if that is why it aches so bad. Also, I had a few drinks last night, if that makes any difference.

My questions are what could it be and should I be worried? What should I do? The only thing open is urgent care, and I don't know if this warrants that. Thanks!

I don't know the specs of your situation, but remember that the signs of a heart attack are chest pains, numbness in your left arm and shortness of breath. I f you haven't experienced any of these symptoms, than chances are you're not in any serious risk, but it does warrant you to be careful.

If I were you, I'd keep and eye on it. Don't try to be a heroe. Just take it easy for a couple of days and be ready in case you do feel worse.

Remember that conditions that can make you feel this way can go from indigestion to a panic attack. I used to suffer from panic attacks, and it felt like I was having a heart attack. It's also a good idea to stop drinking for a few days, and if the next time you drink you feel the same symptoms, than your condition is induced by alcohol.

Another thing to keep and eye on are your prescription drugs and if any of them interacted with the drinks you had. That may be it. Talk to you doctor and have him tell you directly what side effects of interactions your drugs might be causing.

Because this is affecting the left side of your body in more than one body part it could be a sign of stroke. I know it may be nothing, but it is important to treat strokes early to get the best results. This could be the sign of more strokes coming. Are any of these symptoms accompanied with head ache? If so, then skip the urgent care and go straight to ER.
TIAs or transient ischemic attacks affect the brain only and do not affect the body as you describe- so this is not symptoms of TIA.

I'm a neurology nurse, and as such I'm telling you to get this check out. If you are having numbness and tingling to one side of your body that has been going on ALL day, this sounds like it could be a stroke. I don't know how old you are, but don't think that this is just an 'old' person issue. Get check out for your peace of mind. Better safe than sorry.

call your doctor immediatly. Could be heart problems. could also be a mini stroke. neither one is anything to fool with. It could also be absolutely nothing, but it isnt worth the risk. Those are symptoms of very serious problems.

Could be a TIA or small stroke, and I probably would be worried. I don't think I would go to urgent care or an ER though.
