Does it take generations to reach that point where you donot view yourself above anyone else? Does a meat diet have anything to do with it? How can a person learn to be sensitive to everyone's feelings without caring for all of gods sentient beings? I am dissappointed that the dalai lama consumes meat occassionaly too despite preaching peace to everyone! Yet i see hindus adfamant in their vegetarianism, why do buddists deny that what guides you inside is the very presence of god in you! How can buddhism so blatantly pick up every hindu belief and then deny god to appeal to the atheists of this world?

You haven't studied Buddhism nearly enough. Buddhism is not a religion, and does not deny the existence of God. If you're learned that, then you've been looking in the wrong places. Buddhism can be used with Christianity with no conflict.

because western people take up eastern things like a fad,for at least a century or more americans have been led to think that some asian thinking is somehow more mystical or has some hidden wisdom.so people like jack kerouac claimed to embrace buddhism,folks like the beatles took their magical mystery tour,television shows kung fu,movies karate kid,etc propagated that same hype to make a buck.truth is a hermit in a cave in tibet doesn't know the secret anymore than some hermit down the street from you.look at the poor teeming masses in other parts of our world and then try and say they have some secret knowledge.i think modern medicine and sanitary sewers are a lot better than living like some osama bin laden.imagine being a wealthy saudi playing cops and robbers with the americans,living in some hole sitting on the dirt .come on look around usa we are great.thank g-d.

I find that eastern religions think that people are basically good but you statement shows that Christianity is correct and people are actually not good in themselves. Only the Lord has Divine Love and Divine Wisdom. People are not good in themselves. They can only be receptacles of the Lord's life.
