Do you listen politely to what they have to say or do you just slam the door on the face? Have you ever read any of their literature? If so, what do you think of their beliefs? If you are a Jehovah's Witness, what would you say to a nonbeliever?

Jehovah's Witnesses preach to people in obedience to Christs command found at Matt.28:19,20 where Jesus told his disciples "to go and make disciples of people of all the nations.....teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you..."
Jesus did a similar work and taught his disciples to do the same (Acts.5:42,20:20)
Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religious organization that preach the good news about God's Kingdom and the many blessing that it will bring for obedient mankind.
To go knocking on your door in the morning means that they also have had to get up early. And most of the time they have to put up with ignorant, complacent, rude people. But they continue doing the work asssigned them by their Heavenly Father,Jehovah God.
Jehovah's Witnesses use the Bible as the standard for all their beliefs.Whatever it is they are discussing with you,you can be guaranteed that there is scriptural backing for what they are saying. And yes, they are quite happy to use your Bible.
I used to be a Catholic. And have been one of Jehovahs Witnesses for ten years. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me.Jehovahs Witnesses are the only organisation that have an accurate, thorough understanding of the Bible and I am so grateful for being given the priviledge of being able to be called one of Jehovah God's witnesses.
My only suggestion to all is that when they call,be grateful and use the opportunity to ask genuine questions, use the Bible with them and see if what they are preaching is not the truth - because I guarantee you it is!
Matthew 24:14 states - "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come......

I think they are doing what they feel is pleasing to God.
I do not invite them inside. I politely tell them we are not a Christian household and wish them a blessed day. It has never been a problem for me. In fact last summer there were many churches that came through our neighborhood door knocking and we started keeping canned drinks on hand to offer them. It was hot, they were doing what they think is right, and they left me in peace.
I have never had any of them be insistent or rude.
For the people that detest it, post a no soliciting sign. I personally think a minute of kindness goes a long way.

Blessings )O(

I thought that it was very loving of them to give up their weekend to try to save my life and so I studied with them. Actually, first, I studied to prove them wrong so I wouldn't have to change my ideas. But after about 7 years of them giving up their weekends for me, I decided that they were right about God and I studied another year to become one. What would I say to a nonbeliever? Visit a Kingdom Hall once or twice. Talk with a Witness and get to know the sort of person they are. Calmly consider what they have to say and if you still aren't interested, just ask them to put you on their "Do Not Call List". They will respect your wishes.

I listen to the wittnesses when they come I studies with them for a while yrs ago.i don't believe there ways. the Bible says as it was in the days of noa so it shall be until the second coming of Christ. that means to me noah being old test, the second coming new test, the Bible cover to cover is very important none done away with by some new covenant. the mosaic laws were done awy with at the cross but the ten commandments were preserved in the ark for future generations so by doing away with the old test and the ten they are wrong.

I dont get Jehovah witnesses knocking on my door but if I did I would kindly listen to what they say or not answer it. I do not beleive in what they believe and after going out with one in high school, to not celebrate birthdays or Easter or Christmas is not what I believe. There are many things I dont agree with. What would I say to a non-believer? That it is your choice what you want to believe and I respect you for it.

They stopped knocking on my door when I told them that if I wouldn't buy insurance sold door-to-door I was hardly likely to buy into a new religion and that if they wanted to argue further I'd call the dog (I don't actually own a dog but they didn't know that).

Other tactics I have used:-
* Once they accosted me while I was cutting the grass in my front garden. Every time they started talking I switched on the grass strimmer. They soon got the hint.

* These people always seem to go around in pairs (have you noticed they all walk like they're gliding on rails?). One pair consisted of an old woman and a rather attractive looking girl of maybe 19. I told them that the old ugly one could leave but the pretty one could come in as long as she left her clothes on the porch step because we were a family of strict nudists. They left.

* They knocked on my door once when I was up a ladder painting a ceiling. I opened the door covered in paint and with a paintbrush in my hand. One of them said "hello, are you busy?" (obviously being unobservant and a bit stupid doesn't bar you from being a Jehovah's Witness). I pointed to the paintbrush and said "well take a f*cking guess". They turned and fled.

Jehovah's Witnesses have a black list of addresses that they don't visit because they get threatened/abused or the occupant is so uninterested that it's not worth their while. If you want them to stop bothering you then you have to get yourself on the list!!

A Baptist friend of mine ended up on their blacklist when he invited two Jehovah's Witnesses into his kitchen when they called and in four hours HE converted THEM!

Of course I've read some of their literature. It paints a lovely picture or a world at peace. They have some nice ideas.

But generally when they come to my door, I tell them that I am quite content with my beliefs.

Since the rest of the week consists of workdays when I am not home I treasure my weekends. The idea of someone pounding on my door during that leisure time to give me his version of what is religion does not bring out the best in me. I give those pushy people less courtesy than I give someone knocking on my door looking for a vote in the next election.

I politely listen to what they have to say, take their literature. I don't believe in their beliefs. I think they believe that they are the only chosen people of Christ. When Christ comes again, I think He will take anyone that believes in Him.

I don't like it a bit. I am Christian and if I want to talk to them, I can go to their "meetings." I think it infringes on my peace and quiet when someone takes it on themselves to come knocking, trying to "sell" me anything, even if it's their particular denomination.

I think if they had any respect for people, they would stop this behavior and start sending out mailings instead. I believe our government should outlaw this practice. They have no right to disturb my home. I feel the same about people soliciting also.
