I have never been the ";room mom" at school, no pta, just not really involved on the school end.
i have always been very supportive of my child, w/ homework ect.

my child having serious problems w/ bullys, so i put him in a wonderful private school, i could only do this because they are giving him a partial scholarship.

I want 2 be involved, helpful, whatever i can to keep my child in good standing, as well as express my graditute.

new to this- any ideas on what is needed, how to approach, what i can do?

Go talk to your child's teacher and the school principal. They should be able to point you to tasks that need to be done. Don't be afraid to try something new, and don't be too good for even the most menial task. Be a cheerful giver of your time, and give until it hurts. There is so much need in the schools.

Talk to the director, tell her what you want to do, see if she has any space. Just stop and chat. All you can do is just let her know you are available to help. If they have a need you can fill, they will probably take you up on your offer.

you can ask the childs teacher if she needs help with class parties or something else.
