Ha. Always easier to point a finger at someone else, judge and "help" others to be what makes one feels more comfortable than it is to look inside, recognize self issues, and do something to help the self.

That's one reason why so many fundamentalist are so determined to judge everyone else - they can't handle dealing with their own issues. Another big reason is that they seem to need to judge others as inferior in order to feel better about themselves. And, well, then there are those who are just stupid ignoramuses who can't think for themselves, and therefore, believe no one else should be allowed to think intelligently, either.

Ok, I do not mean all religious people - just the ones that mis-use Bible to sanctify their own prejudices.

Suppose you saw a blind person walking towards a cliff.

You have two options: You can let them continue forwards and watch them fall off the cliff, or you can try to lead them towards safety.

What would you do?

For people who have faith in their religion, there is NO DOUBT in their mind that the unbeliever is headed towards hell just as surely as the blind person is going to fall from the cliff.

This point is very important to understand. You may well think that they are totally crazy for believing in things like heaven and hell, but they truly believe in it just as they believe that they will burn their hand if they put it in fire.

It is out of compassion for the unbeliever that they try their best to save them from hell.

Some people believe that your immortal soul is more important than your earthly body, and so are ready to use extreme methods to ensure that your soul is saved. (E.g. they would kill you (or let you die) if it means that your immortal soul would go to heaven.)

That is an optimistic perspective. There is a more pessimistic perspective that goes something like this:

If you can establish yourself as the leader of a religion, and then make everyone follow that religion, then you have control over those people.

However, I think that even the most ruthless of leaders will be telling themselves (and certainly telling others) that they are doing what they are doing for the "optimistic" reasons.

maximum professed Christians do no longer understand what the Bible says about the concern, pal. no one receives "despatched" to hell. those who declare that "good human beings" don't have any risk for eternal existence because they not in any respect heard of Jesus can no longer make that fact, they're only providing their opinion, and that's an opinion with none interest of God's mercy. maximum do no longer understand what "accepting Jesus" skill. wish that helps, neighbor.

If hell on earth could be likened to the death of a spouse, or a child burned to death in a house fire, or having one's head cut off by a terrorist, or slowly dying of cancer, the real hell is a million times worse and lasts forever. Love is not wanting anyone to go through it. That is why Christians want to help you escape it.

yes i can see where you think that being here on earth is considered hell, but i tell you the truth, hell is real and its not here on earth. Hell is going to be much worse than what you see on earth. As christians we have the love of God in us and like God we dont anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved. We dont want anyone to go to hell. We know we cant force our beliefs on people and some christians do but its just because of our love for others that we dont want them to go to hell. We want non christians to not listen to satan's lies but to receive the truth, which is Jesus Christ. Most people dont know that they are going to hell but they are. Sad but its the truth.

If you live your life by a set of tenets or belief systems that advocate that only your way is the right way, then anyone who adheres to a different view, yet is well-adjusted, happy, honest, living a good life is a threat to your beliefs and self-validation. Conversion of those others is needed to negate that contradiction.

Because that's what God called us to do. If you were about to get hit by a car, wouldn't you want someone to save you before it happened? That's like Christians, we want to save you before you end up in Hell.

It is the basic principle behind the religion- it is all about saving people and helping them get into heaven- Christians believe that non-believers are suffering...

You can go to hell if you want- your choice, and we have free will. What I would like, as a Christian , is for you to get to know the Lord. When you do- he'll do the rest.

Hell is nothing more than the first state you are born into. Being "void" and "empty" as it says in Genesis and also having original sin as it says in Genesis.
