I believe that gabapentin is also known as neurontin. It is an anti-convulsant, originally intended for use in treating epilepsy. It has been prescribed off-label for chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and other neuromuscular disorders. It has lately fallen into question because of the possible side effect of suicidal thoughts. There are ads on TV saying, "If you (!) or someone you know has committed suicide after taking neurontin, call these lawyers." I have fibromyalgia, and I tried gabapentin once for a few weeks. Although it did help with the pain I stopped taking it because it put me in a really awful mood.

It is used for pain, seizures and sleeping aid. I know this cause I am doing a research study on it. The inactive ingredients are corn starch, gelatin, lactose, talc, and titanium dioxide.
It works I'd say 60% affectively.
Hope this helps!

Its the drug Neurontin. It was originally used for seizures, but now is also used for muscle pain and mood swings, due to bipolar.
I take it and have since 1998. It saved my life. I love what it does for me. I cant tell that it does much for my pain, but it works great for my bipolar.
