I have heard people say that only scissors should be used for haircut. Clippers ruin future hair growth. Is it true?

Scissors usually offer a cleaner cut which will in the long run help the hair maintain shape; Clippers can lead to split ends in the future.

Guess it's OK for dudes since they get thier hair cut monthly or more ... but if you're a girl who wants long hair ... use the scissors.

Absolutely not! I have been a hairdresser for over 22 years. It does not ruin your hair. However, if you are having your hair cut with clippers for something other than a buzz cut, etc, please make sure you have a hairdresser who is experienced in cutting many styles with a clipper. The techinique is a little different, depending on the style. No worries, clippers are great.
