I play Mega Millions, and I always play the same numbers. I've chosen numbers that are really significant to me (i.e. the date I lost my best friend, etc.). I don't count on winning the lottery at all, I know it most likely won't happen, but I play thinking that maybe the bad things in my life (from which I've drawn my numbers) will pay off.
I told my boyfriend what the numbers meant, and he asked me not to play them anymore (one of them was a day me and an old boyfriend broke up- I chose that number NOT because of the hurt I felt, but because I grew up a lot through that process). I agreed not to.
Funny thing is, he started playing my numbers because he thinks I'm a good person and the numbers I chose will be winners. He did this behind my back, but confessed to it. I'm upset because those "numbers" aren't just numbers to me, they mean something to me, and all they mean to him is money and greed (and, to be honest, he is a greedy person). Is it wrong of him to play my numbers?

And yes, I know it's stupid, but he's walking on thin ice, and sometimes (like in this situation) I don't know if I should be upset or not.

Okay... I'm 20 he's 23, and yes, I know it's ridiculous, very ridiculous, and I hate when people ask questions like this one, but as I said, he's walking on thin ice... And the numbers were dates of things that changed my life, so for those who left positive comments, thank you, and also, even the negative ones help, too.
And I know lottery numbers AREN'T a big deal, it's the concept- him going behind my back, etc.

Yes it is. Those are your numbers and he is using them when he told you not to. It's just disrespectful to you when those numbers changed your life. Don't let him do that. State your point.

In a way, yes. He can't see you attaching significance to the numbers, yet he can't shake off the gambling superstition that your numbers will pay off. Gambling is greed sneaking in a backdoor.
If he is important to you, and you to him, Suggest you both play the numbers together and either add or change a number to make it significant to the both of you. (I suspect he will add a number so as not to lose the other "chances")
Better still:
In my area, we have charity lotteries with odds far better than the public lotteries, plus, they support a good cause. If you can both agree, abandon your past numbers and play these charity lotteries together so even if you don't win, you can still pat each other on the back for a good deed done...

I find myself laughing at this question cause you are mad at him for using numbers that mean alot to you. I hope that you 2 are not planning on getting married cause if this upsets you then you will be fighting all the time. why does it matter if he used your numbers. Use them if you want. Who can figure out why people do the things they do. He saw something that he wanted from you and talked you right out of them. This tells me one thing about you. You need to be a woman and a stand on your on 2 feets with a straight back stand tall and move on. You have to learn that life sucks for the most part and things never work out like you think they should. This is childs play compared wo what life has to offer. Do not let a man talk you out of something that you feel strongly abot. It was yours and it had meaning to you and you shouod have kept it that way.

It depends, when he played the numbers are you sure he did it out of total greed? Because if he did you need to comfront him. NICELY...... Maybe you took it the wrong way and he should of told you about it then you might of been a little less upset. Next time tell him to ask before he does something like this.

OMG there are so many more important things in the world to worry about than whether your boyfriend plays your numbers.
As for him telling you not to play those numbers anymore, I hope you told him where to go. He has no right to tell you what you can and can't do.

If the numbers are of significant to you for what ever reason, then they are your numbers. However, he is probably thinking that you are still holding on to those bad memories, and wishing things were different. I do understand his point of view, but if he is this worried about it then he should not be using them for his benefit

Well well well....i definately think that maybe there is a chance you can't really trust your boyfriend i might be wrong of course ....but do you think your best friend or your boyfriend would have let it go if you were the one doing what he's doing?
In my opinion...what he has done is not ok....but you have to be judge of that.

It's totally wrong (not about your "numbers" question, but playing the game at all). No sane person would ever play such a game.

Don't worry about his action, These numbers are yours and as soon as some body else try to use them, they lost all their meanings and powers.
Each of us has his/her unique set of numbers, your lucky numbers are some one else misfortune sign.
Be happy .
