Is there exceptions? Or is the "truth" misunderstood? Do people go to hell for their sins, or go to heaven anyway?

ya have to believe that God is a cruel, barbaric and primitive monster that requires the offering of a human blood sacrifice and then you must BATHE IN THE BLOOD OF THAT HUMAN BLOOD SACRIFICE in order to avoid being tormented forever in the monster god's eternal torture chamber

so conditioned to accept such a repellent concept I doubt most Christians really think about just how disgusting that is. the mental imagery is enough to make one puke.

here is the scripture. Jesus is the way the truth and the light and no one may enter except through Him. That means if you ask Jesus to be your friend and are willing to listen to the impressions He gives you evaluate and act according to your heart then ,, oh yeah you have to be sorry for the things you have done wrong and want to not repeat them (all this either is in your heart or not) Then when you say Jesus I want to be your friend, then you have entered into the way. It does not take more than half an hour to read just the red letters in the new testiment to know who Jesus is. A decision on if you would like to be His friend can then be made. My quess after reading your questions and the impression He gave me concerning you is that He wants you to be his friend.. With regards to hell there is pretty good evidence that you actually have to pretty much make the decision that you want to be apart from God to go there. I refer to some brought back to life peoples witness where they almost went to hell and even though they had crossed over they prayed and were brought out. God would never send someone there who did not know the decision they had made.

All this understanding hinges on why He created us and scripture says it was to be His friend. No one is gonna force you to be their friend, no one wants to live in a place cluttered with deviates who do not want to be where they are, cuz then it would be earth not heaven. It all makes sense if you read it without a personal agenda

In the time I've been here, I have never seen a single Christian say that YOU are going to hell.

People go to hell for rejecting the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. No more, no less.

Sinners and Christians are the same. The only difference is Jesus Christ's forgiveness. Christians are sinners who still need daily forgiveness.

Only God knows who is going to heaven or to hell and anyone who says otherwise is... ignorant.

I can defend these points with God's Word.

When we die, we all go to hell. In the Bible, the word hell is taken from the Hebrew word "sheol" and from the Greek word "hades". Both words refer to the common grave of mankind--nothing more. It is not a place of fiery torment, as some would have you believe. It may surprise you to know that in the King James Bible at Acts, it says that Jesus Christ went to hell when he died.

The Bible holds out a hope of a resurrection from the dead for all who are in hell. See John 5:28 and 29.

If your faith is in Jesus Christ, you are saved. He is the only way.
Christ went to the cross for all our sins but, if we deny Him, we are making a choice to turn down that salvation. Only you and God know for sure but, you can be sure.

Jaydelove.....we can never do enough or be good enough, that is the whole reason Jesus did the work.

We are worth a Son to God.

I asked the same question as you! Shouldn't God judge us on our good deeds? If we are nice people shouldnt we go to heaven, even if we don't believe in God???

I am no religious expert, but...

I believe that by 'hell', it only means being seperate from God. I believe this because if God is so great and amazingly good and cool, then being close to him would be just so amazing. Heaven, in fact. This world is supposed to be a place where we decide if we accept God, or not. God is supposedly here, in bits and pieces, present in the world but not to 'close'.

So Heaven is being with god, this world is being kinda in between, and hell is being away from God.

I can understand why hell would be bad. If all the great things in this world are from God, and all the painful bad things are what happens when God is not there, then hell will just be all the horrible bad things. Maybe.

Or maybe Hell will just be being cut off from God. I think that if god is so great, then being away and cut off from god will be hell in comparison.
I dont think there is really fire and brimstone and torture in hell! I think that was for dramatic impact!

A religious friend of mine said that if you dont accept god in this world, then you should have no issues if you dont get to be with god in the next world. that made sence to me.

I think when people say 'believe in god or youre going straight to hell', they are not being very good christians - they should be more understanding, more explanitory so as not to confuse you, and less judgemental!!!

But if you want more advice, I suggest you ask at www.stjudes.com.au - thats where i ask all my annoying religious questions! And they're answers are pretty good - not like my rant here!!!

Don't worry, from all the explanations I've heard, there are going to be A LOT of us down there, so it ought to be fun. However, from what I've read of the Bible, the Christians who tell people they are going to hell are going to hell themselves because only God can judge. I was in a class and we were asked who had read certain books of the Bible and only the Buddhist and the Taoist had (I was the Buddhist). I think Christians should actually read the book the preach about rather than tell a bunch of lies.

You don't go to hell just because you sin, we all sin. You just have to ask forgiveness and not do those things again. It's like apologizing to God, and he WILL forgive you. Those "Christians" can't tell you whether or not you'll go to hell, it's not up to them, they're obviously not TRUE christians to say such things to you. It's up to you where you want to spend eternity, and in the end, God will make that judgement for you...

Many who call themselves Christians are not actually following the teachings of God or Christ--any "Christian" who tells you that you will burn forever is a liar, no matter how well intentioned he/she might be. God says that he puts life and death before us but that we must choose life in order to keep living. He also says that the meek (teachable) will inherit the earth. Hell (the common grave according to the Bible) will burn up in the Lake of Fire (the second death) or to put it simply----There will be no more death.

You sin everyday (not you personally, just everyday people) so the only way to combat that is to ask forgiveness. Technically then you are destined to go to heavan straight away. Plus it's now become an over used figure of speech exspressing one's wish for you to go to hell.
