Go to you local rmv and get the CDL study guide. Bring it home and read it while you are takin a dump. Go back to the rmv the next day and take the permit test. The permit test is so easy. I would recommend reading over the Air Brakes section real carefully. I would hold off on taking any other endorsement tests til after you have had your road test. If you apply for more endorsements before your road test the trooper will just drill you with that many more questions. You must take the air brakes test though.

Most states will have you take a written test, and the CDL test is usually in different parts. Best thing is to go to the DMV and get a study book, usually free, and study it before you test.
