flat or round wasn't an issue back then. It was flat, no further discussion required. They might as well have asked him why polar bears liked swimming. In Palestine in AD30, they didn't care.

anyway, i don't think that at the time the disciples were following Jesus around they thought they were with the Son of God, just a guy who somehow keeps you washing along on his tide of ideas, a bit like Randall from Clerks, but less smutty and not so pointless. Ideas about the Son of God came later. Paul did a lot to condense those thoughts but it took another 300 years before the whole lot was put together in a coherent set of beliefs. Which, as you may surmise, I don't hold.

Maybe they did ask, but the questions weren't documented? Maybe they didn't doubt these things like we do today with so much scientific knowledge.

They did ask lots of questions about God. The issue of whether the earth was round or flat probably wasn't a big issue at the time (although in the bible they do refer to a circular earth, long before this was proven). My guess is they weren't thinking about mysteries of the universe that are 'scientific' mysteries, because science wasn't so important. They were thinking about 'religious' mysteries, because religion was used to explain things then the way science is used now.

Thats my guess!

They may have done - but we will never know. - Why?

The gospels, which are not from a historians point of view great documents - cause they were at least written between 150 and 300 years after Christ was alive in the first place.

When the early Roman Church got their mitts on them, they also chopped bits out of the gospels which they did not like. They even ignored other gospels which has been written eg. Judas, Mary and Thomas - these are called the 'gnostic gospels'.

Try them - you might find something. They are online - just stick them in a search engine.

Because they had bigger concerns on their minds; in those days people didn't think twice about the stars and the planets. They were busy living in the here and the now. I don't worry about space either, and I have a university degree. I think a lot of the money that gets shoveled into NASA programs could be better used for AIDS research, helping the homeless and those downsized into unemployment.
BTW they didn't know the Americas were out there, either.

Well when they saw Jesus come back to life I guess they felt that the shape of the earth did not matter any more!

Same when he walked on water and rose people from the dead the shape of the earth sort of pales into insignificance!

All of his disciples died terrible deaths for their belief that Jesus was the son of God. Why would they do that for nothing?

In defence of the Catholic church the catholics have three books in their bibles which the prodistants got their MITTs on and took out!

Maybe they did, but you have to remeber that the bible was written by many young prophets, deciples etc, and with clear concise strraight to the point messages....so maybe the apostles who wrote the part obout Jesus' interactions with the disciples decided to leave thaose questions out, or maybe they thought it unnecesary?

LoL!

Only stupid people can believe in bible. Those who are poor intellectually. No offence.

I don't think the statue of jesus dressed with only a piece of cloth and nailed over a cross will reply back of you want to contact him.

Only a mentally disturbed person can claim that.

Because everything else fades in the presence of God. Things of the world fade from relevance in the presence of glory..

Because to them it was very evident , creation that is.
They were worried about matters of a spiritual nature, as mankind should be worried about now.
