I've posed this question several times. I've had many people say they would sacrifice their own children before they would renounce their God. I don't get it.
Edit: I'd sacrifice myself in a heartbeat to save not only my loved ones, but a total stranger.

nope you did say soul not life right. Easy to give your life, in a micro second but I do not even believe this selling you refer to is gonna be offered to a person. cuz if it were then the offerer would not be giving you all the facts and life what is life, Better someone be put out of their misery. As for selling your soul for anothers soul in this microcosim we live with time and space being our bars I do not think that we could fully understand such a decision. Just the same b4 I was saved I did or thought I did what you mention and as I watched that person grow they became someone I thought should die as they became very unforgiving, to everyone around them paid the price and eventually vindictive still in the trade I lost something and needed an exorcism to get it back. Some times I think htere was a small part lost but replaced eventually By Jesus.

If you did you would be doomed for I cannot save one who has sold his soul to my wayward child. Also, the person in question could save themselves by repenting what they have done, and in that act alone no-one would need to do anything for I would take their hand and walk them to the gates of my home. True, I'd lose out on the 20% deal I have have going, which given the numbers doing it amounts to quiet a lot already, and yes I know I got shafted on the 20% deal but hey ................ who knew!

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Your question is asked in a 2 fold way. But to ask it in the most logic way, NO I will not sell my soul for my loved ones, They had a chance to repent, & don't, that is their problem, not mine, The Bible says except a man leave his father, mother brother, sister, husband, wife, & not follow Christ, we are none of his, Now that don't mean that we are to literally leave our family members, But it means, we have to put Christ first above all things. Very tricky question, but I am not easily tricked. The reason it is 2 fold & tricky is because you actualy ask 2 questions, # 1 Will I sell my soul over to satan, then in your further sayings, you say, or give yourself over with no doubt in your Mind. Over to what.

Let me say this. Christ said "there is no greater love then to lay down your life for your brother"
No gender intended. I feel as if I have to explain that everytime I answer a question it seems so people will understand the answer. I know they would not understand by the question they ask. Not meaning you in a direct way, just want to explain my answer and leave no doubts or questions why I answered the way I did.

I agree with Spooky I would do so in a heartbeat - even though I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. If it existed I wouldn't hesitate to help my family in that situation.
Maybe that is the bigest sacrifice of all. Maybe if God saw you do that, he would save you because of that selfless act.
Some of these answers are extremely selfish!!

Whoo. People here don't get the meaning of a hypothetical question.
I'm not a Christian. But if I were, I'd happily take an eternity in hellfire if it meant putting someone I love in safety and happiness.

no as much as i love the ones i am close to i was put here by god and that is who i live for
and honestly name a situation where this would happen
even if someone kidnapped them
they do not have the authority over me to make me do that and they would not know if i were telling the truth if i agreed to sell my soul

that is a very tough question! Paul actually said he would go to hell himself if it meant saving the church he loved.. but I don't think many people could honestly say they're willing to do that..
