I would like to create my own mp3 files to back up my CD collection. Does anyone know a good program that can help me create mp3 files with good, better said very good quality?

If you want free, you will have to try different one out. Try WinAmp, Try MusicMatch, try others. The PAID versions of these can produce even higher quality sound, but you can see the compression adjustments that are available for the PAID version, when you use the FREE versions.

I like to have TWO RIPS. One that is high quality, and another one that is TINY for my MP3 player. That way, I have a quality archive, but also tiny files, so my MP3 player can hold more.
