This is a million $ ?.
Personally I think all religions tend to brainwash ppl to think that theirs is the only truth. The fact that there are 3/4 major religions in the world itself PROVE that all religions cannot be true.
For a better world it would be better if babies are taught love, kindness, honesty, open mindedness, integrity, respect, etc rather than dogmatic religious junk.
When they are adults with a good secular education they should be allowed to pick whatever religion they want. (REAL FREEDOM OF CHOICE IN ACTION).

Babies and small children only focus on the mother, or primary caregiver. Children at 8 months old believe that they and their mothers are one.
I grew up in a home with no specified religion. I was baptized in a methodist church, but we moved and my parents tried to join another methodist church in Missouri, that wouldn't take my parents because they didn't make enough money. Can you believe that?
At age 2, we lived in an apartment complex, where I spent time in homes where the mommies & daddies were Hindus from India...Saris and all...of course, at that age, the visual appeal was great, and I enjoyed looking at my friends mom's colorful decorative clothing. I had no knowledge of religion.
At age 5, we lived in a neighborhood where my neighbors on the left were Catholic, and to the right were strict baptist. My school friend was Lutheran. I went to ALL their churches. The catholic church was very big and pretty, and I didn't understand their rituals. The Catholic family screamed and argued all the time.
The Baptist family didn't have a father...he lived in another house around the corner because he wasn't religious. The mother was extremely happy...floating on air....full of "Praise the Lord!" phrases, but told me at age 5 that I would go to hell for having gone to a tarot card reader (an 8 year old girl) at a muscular dystrophy carnival down the street.
My lutheran friends church was full of rambunctious kids, and the minister was very strict....out of Ingmar Bergmans' Fanny & Alexander.
I went to vacation bible school every summer with the Baptist family...it was fun, and uplifting. But being told as a 5 year old that I was going to hell was imperceivably troubling to me, and I could no longer take the religioun seriously.
Babies do not have any perception of god or ritual. Mommy is God for the first several years. Ritual has to be learned to be performed.

I know that you are trying to make a point here but the fact that Babies and small children don't worship says nothing. Children are like sponges if you teach them too believe in Satan the will. The real dilemma is teaching children right from wrong without teaching them too persecute the next man because he doesn't share your beliefs. Teaching children too be kind and open minded is the toughest job a parent can have and i think that placing the principles of God in any learning experience can only enhance a child's ability to grow and mature into a trusting ,loving, caring member of society.

Their religion is the pursuit of liberty and happiness!
Did you know that a child smileson an average 300 times a day, an adult around 17 and an old person not at all. What a wonderful age to live in!

An excellent question. If you tell someone that religion is taught to children and they are made to believe in that religion, they won't agree. But in answer to your question, they agree to the fact that religions are taught to children and they are made to believe in those religions. If the practice of teaching children the religions is abandoned, all the religions will fade out gradually.

newborn kids up to about 3 are probably the best example of spirituality before religion takes hold and gives us reasons to divide or hate others of different views
my kids didn't know what racism was, what prejudice was, what christian/buddhist was, what nationalism was, what intollerance was, they just played with thier peers and focused on having a good time, no agendas

uhh small children who have never been taught a religion can't be a part of a religion. They are in a sense religionless. In some religions, they say that if a child hasn't been taught about religion, he is a free spirit

None, babies are pure from the beginning, they don`t learn all the evil or do any evil till they are grown. Babies trust and love everyone, they do not hate, like grown ups do, and the Bible tells us the greatest of the commandments is love for one another.

None. A child should not have to follow any religion, period, but should not have to make a choice until they reach the age of reason. 8 - 10 at least.

I think that small children reflect what they have been taught. If they have not heard of religion or God than they would be atheist.
