I think it is outrageous that the government wants to tell you how to spend your after tax money. It's bad enough that they spend 1/3 of it the way they want already.

I voiced my discontent about the online gambling ban at http://www.petitiononline.com/LOGNOW/petition.html

when one say gambling is illegal they meant those gambling done in casinos where money or other monatery item are involved. blame the culprits who make this illegal, as those people gamble everything they have, and after losing all of them, they started stealing, robbing and all sorts of crime to get extra capital. this kind of gambling are considered to be the root of all evil, therefore it's considered illegal by almost every country. the small unrealized gambling u were saying is not considered illegal. take it this way. whatever one does, if it's over a certain limit, it may become illegal as it causes other problems. that's why it's wise to not overdo things.

Because its fun, seems like everything that is fun is illegal. I dont gamble, but it think people should be able too. If someone can spend all their money on things like alcohol or lottery tickets then why not gambling?

I guess the law protects people from getting carried away- by declaring gambling illegal. Otherwise, the only investment for most risk-friendly folks would be gambling.

Because the citizens have voted to make gambling illegal because their religion says it is a sin or they think it attracts the mob and all kinds of bad people (or both).

with the exception of on line gambling most gambling is legal,,,it is a federal crime to place a bet over the wire ( phone line ,broadband etc) for all I know placing a bet with a bookie using cell phones is perfectly legal; you won't be prosecuted because 12 people won't convict you and you politicians can't support a law change because they will lose the next election. i thing the specific is called "the 1947 wire act".

Many people do not know when to stop gambling. They lose all of their money. They don't have money to buy food, pay rent, or mortgage note, their car gets repossed.

Sometimes we have to make laws, for the better benefit of society, it doesn't always work, but, at least it's there.

It is only illegal if you get caught, and in some places it is perfectly legal. The idea seems to be that if it is made illegal, that this will save the addicted gambler, from himself. Obviously, this is another type of prohibition, and doesn't work.

it's bad cos it makes you forget your responsibility .it change the way you look,(you need cash only to gamble and nothing else)it change the way you think,(bills are not important, gamble is)it change the way you talk(you lie to the people closes to you for money)and it change your attitude.Don't try it my friend, cos why its really bad, is because it will make you addicted to it.
