Vedic Scriptures describe death as forgetfulness.
Since soul is eternal, it simply passes into the new Body after this body wears out beyond repair. Body being made of matter was never alive.
Hence death is simply forgetfulness of previous life...

When you go to bed and sleep and dream, you do forget your life before you went to sleep and think all things in this dream as real... Well that is also a type of Death :)
When you break this Dream, you remember you had gone to sleep, and you laugh at your dream....
Similarly when you will wake up in consciousness of God and go back to Eternal kingdom of God ....you will realize that you had come to dream in this world and will laugh all your various lives on this planet..
Then you will reach a state of deathlessness..
