Best way to start doing pull ups is putting your hands in the reverse position. For example, instead of the palm of the hand facing out the way(away from you), face them toward you. It makes it easier, and you should be able to do it the other way after practicing. But if you keep on doing them every morning and night until your test you should be able to get it right.

If you're having troubles doing push ups however, put your feet on a chair to raise them and you'll be able to do more and build yourself up.

are you joking, i spent 17 years in the Army at 35 i did 86 sit ups in 2 min, 75 push ups and ran 2 miles in 13:46, and you can`t do 11 pull ups. Soldier, you better be doing pull ups 5 times a day until your PT test. Or you will not make a very good Officer.

Listen to Beez...
Everyday do as many as you can of each, even if you reach your goal keep going.
Don't exercise the day before the test, relax that day, stay hydrated, and stretch out.

Keep at it, you'd be surprised at what you can accomplish if you just keep working at it. Then you will be amazed why on earth you ever had any doubts about your own ability. Good luck.
