Hi there!

Oh man do I ever understand your concern. My eldest daughter (she's now 23) didn't get teeth until she was about your baby's age 14 - 16 months. I was so worried that she didn't HAVE teeth that I asked my dentist and doctor about it. They didn't seem too worried about it.

Then, one day, she was on a balcony with her Dad, and I was on the ground looking up at her, and you wanna know what? She smiled down at me and I saw that she had most of her teeth popping through! No muss! no fuss! Just all of a sudden there they were.

I was fortunate that her teeth just showed up sort of all at once, and without any of the teething nightmares you hear about. If you are really concerned because it is rather late for a baby to start getting teeth, go to a dentist and have her x-rayed to see if they are there.

On a further note, not only did my daughter get her teeth seemingly overnight but she has quite beautiful, strong healthy ones! So while your baby may be late teething, and it is unusual, I don't think its cause for undue concern at this point.

On the other side of the coin, my friend's grandson started teething at a month old!!! with all the attendant rashes, pain and messes . . .poor lil fella . . .

There's always going to be the exception to all the rules . . . ergo your baby is exceptional! And you can PROVE it lol ; )

I wish you and baby all the best !!!!

No need to worry. My niece is almost three and just now getting all her baby teeth. They are healthy and she hasn't had any problems with tooth decay. Children develop at different rates. My first baby had all his teeth before he was six months old, my other two cut all theirs over a course of the first two years, as well as my niece.

Was your baby a preemie? My son was almst 3 months early so he didn't get his first tooth until just before his first birthday. My brother was full-term and didn't get his first tooth until he was 11 months.

Hi
Your baby needs to take calcium syrup, you should take her/him
to a pediatric doctor to prescribe her/him calcium products. Don't worry at all.

Good luck.
