Even female cats spray. Their spray and the spray of the neutered male is a very fine mist as opposed to a spurt of urine. The cat sticks its tail right up and arches its back, and does a funny little sort of dance. It is a marking spray rather than a full spurt as in a urinating spray. So it leaves a hint of a smell. One of my cats does this from time to time and if it's only occasional and a little bit , I just wipe it off. When the cat does this it is marking its territory and sometimes it is showing that it is distressed. For example, if a cat's home is being is being invaded by another cat or if a new cat has just been introduced. When my cat was doing this alot, when she was, I think, being worried by another cat in the neighbourhood, I bought a Felaway room spray and plug-in diffuser from the vet. The diffuser plugs into an electric socket, so the liquid warms and is activated, and it works continuously. The spray you just use as and when needed. I used both to make sure my cat was OK!
Felaway is a cat pheromone. It gives off a smell that we cannot smell but the cat can, and it comforts the cat and makes him/her feel good. Then the cat calms down and will not feel the need to spray. It has worked for me ( my cat, I mean!) .

Removing the testicles doesn't change the working of the urinary tract! However the spray should be considerably less smelly, unless the vet who did the castration didn't know what he was about! Were the testicles removed, or did he just cut the vesicle? Because it could heal back--it's not probable but it has happened in a tiny percentage when human males have had vasectomy.
Take him in and get him checked.

I have a neutered cat and he is not spraying. You need to take the cat back to another Vet and get a second opinion if your Vet is of no help. The cat should not spray after neutering.

cats spray after they've been neutered because spraying is a territorial thing - its their way of marking their territory. If your cats have been neutered their spray should not smell bad, but they will spray purely because its in their nature as they are territorial animals.

If they were altered after they came into sexual maturity that is why. And with two males, you will have that. Its a dominance thing between the cats. All animals have a pecking order. Even altered animals.

Neutering cats is wrong! God made them that way for a reason: to mark their territory! They shouldn't have been domesticated by humans in the first place! Its the same story for dogs!
