Labs have a double coat and shed more than a lot of other breeds. I dont know that the color has much to do with it, just like some people shed more than others.

It depends on the dog the color should not matter. Excessive shedding can because by a lack of nutrients in the dog's diet. I had the problem until I found the perfect food. My dog has always been on the top of the line dog foods but they did not help. I switched to Royal Canin's Labrador Retriever 30. The food is especially designed for the needs of the Labrador (including coat). He looks great and his shedding has greatly decreased.

Mine Too! I thought is was because the yellow one isn't really a pure Lab. The black one has fur that is more... slick... (can't think of another way to discribe it) the yellow one is more soft and I spend the day sweeping up yellow dog hair. Glad I'm not the only one.

would all depend on the breeding, some labs are single coated and dont shed all that much, some labs have a extreemly dence under coat and shed a lot.

I truly have a yellow and he sheds very a lot yet i understand that a number of black Labs that shed in simple terms as a lot. I actually do no longer imagine that's a actuality you're making that regular. I worked with Labs of all hues for years and that i understand the yellow hair shows up extra, like that's extra noticeable because of color. The black and chocolate blends in extra perfect. yet i do no longer imagine that the color makes the version.

My vet told me to put a little fish oil in her food, it will help but not drastically. Just try brushing him/her everyday. My lab likes to be vacuumed, when she sees the vaccum out she lays down waiting for her massage.

Yes, even if they were both the same breed they would be different.
Just do lots of grooming they & you will benefit. I use a FURmintor on my dog & it helps alot.
