I am having trouble with my Kodak Easyshare cx7300, which was a gift ,so cant return to shop.
The green light comes on and the screen lights up showing reading card, then red light blinks and camera goes off.
Troubleshooter says low batteries, I have just bought and tried rechargable but the same thing happened.
Could there be some other problem?

If it takes AA batteries then try some regular non-rechargeable ones, usually Alkaline are best (it will say on the packet what they are and their power rating - check this against what it says in the manual).

To be honest I never liked digital cameras that run off AA or AAA batteries, the expense in replacement batteries is silly and rechargeable ones don't last half as long as non-rechargeable. Better to have an official battery (if the camera can take them) from the camera manufacturer, it'll give you more hours' use between recharges.

Try the battery connections the contacts may be weak.
It may be a problem with the memory card if it is inserted the wrong way round.

Good Luck!

Try pushing and holding the battery compartment firmly closed, whilst switching on. Keep the pressure on and see if it starts ok. When you release the pressure on the cover if it shuts down its a battery contact problem.
Mine did the same sometimes by holding it upside down it would start. To fix this I bent the battery contacts out a bit so that there was more pressure on the batterys. It works fine now.
I hope this is of help.

Try proper batteries, re-chargable do not contain the same power. That should cure it, as cameras need a lot of power unfortunately!

Try calling their help line. Particularly for a new camera they can often give an answer very easily.
