I currently have both a doberman and a great dane. I think both make great dogs and each intelligent in their own way. Dobermans are extremely sensitive dogs and tend to have strong reactions to external stimuli (which is what makes them a wonderful guard dog). Great danes are also sensitive dogs, but tend to be less reactive. In my opinion, dobermans tend to react fast whereas danes are observers.

Earlier I had a Doberman now I have Great Dane.I can tell u about their differences and then u can decide which one suits u.Doberman are intelligent and therefore can be trained easily,they are good guards,they have slim body therefore they can run fast,they are loyal where as Great Danes are not as intelligent,they require huge meals,they can be very agressive at times,they are unique in appearance and attracts people,they are very sweet and loving.If u have time and money to spend then I will suggest u to go for Great Dane.

These are both wonderful dogs in the hands of the right owners.
Dobermans get a bad reputation for only being faithful to their owners - it really isn't true - they just need to trained to be sociable at a young age.
And who would love a slobbering Great Dane and all that blue blood?
If you are planning on getting one - take good care of him/her -

Research both dogs to see which best suits your lifestyle. Great Danes would be very expensive to feed and would need a lot of back yard. I gues the doberman would too.
They're both a beautiful breed and they'd both need love, affection and obedience training. It's really down to personal preference.

I dont know why but for me there's just something about great danes that i like, I was thinking of getting one myself in the future.
But dobermans are really great too, its just up to you really, try going to a kennel where you can look at both breeds and see which one you think is more suited to you.

Dobermans are good dogs when trained properly, but in the end they go mad because of brain degeneration its a common trait. Great Danes are also great dogs but have a short life expectancy because of there size. Hard to chose?

I have to say i prefer dobes,i have always kept them and they do make wonderfull pets and good guard dogs..I have nothing against great Danes,they are lovely looking dogs,its their size that would stop me from getting one.All dogs will have their good and bad points.Id like to point out that i have never heard of dobermans going mad through brain problems and i have always kept them and also know a lot of dobe breeders.All dogs come with health problems,you need to do a lot of research on the breed that you choose to make sure its the one for you.

both are awasome dogs and will love you to death if you let em. id go with a great dane cuz then you would have a big stupid animal runin around being happy and slobbering and playing with you theya re actuly quite smart but the lok on their face says different. dobermans are cool dog but danes are much more fun for me atleast

I think DOBERMAN is not atall good with children but it is good at guarding the house. I suggest u to take a GREAT DANE
