make 2 'k' signs with each hand. (like peace signs with your thumb in the middle. Have one facing up in front of you and bring the other face down on top of the other. Now you can say F*CK!!! Hooray!

Curse Words In Sign Language

2016-10-05 11:40:37 · answer #3 · answered by harting 4 · 0 0

I know for a fact that there is....I have a 26 yr old deaf son, and they can say anything that we can say. The deaf community also has slang words as well and one for example would be a cop and thats normally where a "C" shaped hand is put over the left chest...in their slang version they show an opened hand to display 5 fingers and then make an "O" with the same hand. So when doing it...it looks like 5...O. The 5 and O represent the TV show Hawaii Five O which is a cop show. Just like English...also with sign language...many signs are different depending on where you live. In the north people ask if you want a bag, and in the south they may ask if you want a poke or a sack. It is interesting to learn sign, and especially usefull being in a loud environment 2 people can communicate pretty easily.

yes there are there are some people who spell words out instead of using the sign for the word so that way you could sign them all but there is the middle finger there is the hand closed thumb from teeth that means a female dog I'm sure there are more just cant think of them all right now you should google a sign language chart

You question implies that because someone cannot speak they are unable to sign words we speak (those of us that are able).

I can sign very slowly and most words I have to spell out, however, there are swear words and signs (outside of the obvious middle finger gesture)... there are swear words. Funny t hing is, one can do them and be smiling while doing it and if one doesn't know sign language the actual signing doesn't look offensive. I find that hilarious.

I suggest to anyone who may read this - learn another language, broaden our perspective of communication - whether that be French, Spanish, German and yes "or signing".

I am fluent in Auslan (the sign language used in Australia) and there are words for every word that a hearing person would use. So, there are plenty of swear words.

I'm sure there are. Probably very subtle ones too. True for ALL languages. Sometimes whats ok to say in one language or culture is A VERY BAD SWEAR in another.

Absolutely. When I was learning sign language, I had a deaf friend who thought it was hilarious to teach me the wrong signs. I was walking around cursing at people all the time.

Once my supervisor, who was deaf, asked me what I thought of another employee. I meant to say I thought he was really nice. What I actually said was that he f*cks really good. My supervisor looked at me really strangely. Luckily there was an interpreter present who straightened things out.

there are swear words and also slang. contrary to popular belief there middle finger raised in "salute" was not the american sign for that phrase. in regards to the slang - what means the same in one area does not mean the same in another -- while it's always nice to try to talk in a new language - just like with verbal langages - be careful what you say ; ) at a conference i thought i was saying one thing and i was slightly off in my actions and ended up telling this person i wanted to have sex with them LOL thankfully he knew my sign was primary at best - oh the laughter was deafening!
