Im going to take Egypt as an example:

It is a facist, autocratic, police state. The citizens of Egypt absolutely despise their leaders, yet America has always been their ally, America has dozens of military bases in their country and the people resent this, America knows if egypt was a democracy they would get kicked out, so they support their tyrannical regime which opresses its citizens. So how can you expect them to like you?

Please give me rational answers.

I'm not a wussy liberal who thinks America should strive to be loved by foreigners. I don't care one iota what inferior foreigners think of America.
WE are the worlds Superpower
WE will do whatever we want to do
WE decide who we want to pick on
Winning a popularity contest with the rest of the planets gimpy little nations is NOT something we care a whit about. Think what you will about us but stay out of our way and do what we tell you or we may just bomb your worthless populations too.

I'm looking around for someone named america.

You try to target a small audience here and want the world's problems to be solved. Things are complicated and because not everyone knows the "big picture", we are left to speculate also.

If you met me in person, I know you would like me. That's what I expect. Hiding behind these avatars is not real and makes communicating deep thoughts and ideas not effective.
We have dreams also and we can be very good people if you want to see it that way.
The problem with Egypt lies in Egypt, if the people believed in what they wanted, they would take over. You gotta play the game to some degree to get involved at higher levels.
Whoever does a task the best will lead, other's will follow and learn, no matter what system is used.

America is proud, beautiful and armed to its teeth. Our self esteem is very high, so we don't need to be asking other countries to "like us" so we feel better about ourselves.

We are not the only ones, France is exactly the same way. Everyone bashes France, but do the French care? Of course not.

As for the rest of your argument, it is flawed.

The UK is a democracy, we have never occupied England, we have not been at war with them in hundreds of years, yet they don't mind that we have bases over there.

Germany is a democracy. We ran that country and then we handed over the government to their own citizens. We are still there and we have ZERO involvement in their civilian government or in the way they run their armed forces. Germany is a member of both NATO and the UN and they are doing very nicely.

Perhaps because the United States leads the wold in government aid, private philanthropy, and volunteerism. While we are the wealthiest country in the world, we are also the most generous by a LONG SHOT. Our government may do things that many of us disagree with but Americans have done more than any other citizens to improve the world.

As Reagan's Jean Kirkpatrick once said " they may be bastards but at least they are our bastards. " or something like that.
The US really does not care - we supported Park Yee, DW Botha, Ferdinand Marcos, Ponochet, the death squads in Central America. As Kissinger once said " Diplomacy is the acid test of foreign policy" We used our foreign policy to maintain the standard of living here in the states and preserve long term American vested interests. We continue to support dictators all around the world - if they are useful to us.

I would for the most part separate Americans from their government and especially foreign policy. Most of them have no clue about what the US does overseas. We don't have access to this information and US media whores keep it from us.

The US "has dozens of military bases in Egypt"?

That is not true, not by a long shot. So perhaps the problem is that the sheeple of Egypt, like you, are believing totally ridiculous lies that are being spread by anti-American liars.

I also think its funny you post irrational lies, but expect rational posts in return.

You know, once you decide that not everyone is going to "like" you, the world is much easier.

The other side of Egypt is what? The muslim brotherhood? Yeah nice guys that want Americans dead. Which side is in my best interest do you suppose?

that's part of our history... during the Cold War the U.S. supplied weapons to Osama Bin Laden to repel the Soviet Invasion. Now we're allies with Russia and Osama is considered to be public enemy #1. I've also heard that the U.S. installs fascist rulers in foreign countries to maintain some sort of regional influence. It's essentially a means a self-preservation, which is what government in this country has become. States have assigned new districts to make it easier to get re-elected. The rate of incumbency in the U.S. is something like 98%.
