I have been dating this guy who I really like. I enjoy his company. Unfortunately, he has a crazy work schedule. I would like to spend more time with him. Dinner, movies or just hanging out. His schedule has recently changed. He's off on weekend's! While we were together last night, he asked what I was doing tonight. I told he I may be going to a party. I asked why? Would he like to see a moving or something? His response was call me,"I'll be free at 8 or 8:30". I would rather be with him then go to the party....

Don't spend every free moment with him. Don't change your plans for him. That's making yourself too availabe for him. He will start expecting you to make yourself available for him. Maybe you could ask him to go to the party with you, and if he doesn't want to, then make plans with him for like tomorrow or something, or even next week if that's the soonest he has available, and just go to the party yourself.

Ask him if he would like to go to the party with you even for a short time. If the party starts early and he doesn't want to go - go without him and then get together later with him. This way you can do both. But I would also talk with him and see if in the future you can make plan together on the weekends - before last minute! Good luck and have fun!

Well the "I'll be free at 8 or 8:30" kinda made me wonder a little bit about what he was doing. But I say go and have fun with him. Maybe take him to the party with you.

Relationships like that are hard, I know. The thing you did wrong was even telling him you were going to a party. You should make plans with him anytime he can spend time with you.

That is the same tactic I use when I'm not interested in a girl. I use my job as an excuse. "I'm busy" or "I have to study". It saves me the trouble of having to tell her things which might hurt her feelings. I'm not saying it's the same case with you. But, I think it's a possibility

Look be glad that the guy has a job and some ambition. Why can no one just communicate. Tell him how you feel and work it out.
