I think you've got it all wrong. The key is to feel confident _despite_ the silly mistakes we will undoubtedly make.

It is your lack of confidence that makes you worry about your mistakes. Know that mistakes are okay and they are opportunities to learn.

Have you considered Speech and Debate? This certainly helps build confidence. I assume you are homeschooled, so there are currently many clubs in most metro areas of the US.

As to "silly mistakes", when you learn how to avoid those please let me know! I'm nearly 50 and still make mistakes, silly and otherwise. Stop worrying about it.
If you are learning from the mistakes then it is not a loss. ; )
I'm sure you feel silly, try to learn to laugh at yourself. You'll wind-up being of more help to others. Promise.

I think a great technique is to model yourself after someone who is confident and successful. Watch their body language and listen to their voice. Easier said than done, but try to avoid people in your life who put you into the role of a screwup.

You will never have a life with no mistakes in it, but the trick is to use the mistakes to learn from and move forward. Don't let your mistakes scare you away from trying again.

Confidence is either a function/ result of knowledge or is an act of bravado. The later lasts a few seconds. U need to acquire knowledge about the topic that you are discussing or talking about. Knowledge comes only when you read. ther is no alternative. read news papers. read classic novels - about 200 of them. read some philosophy. You need to be slow in delivery of speech and stress teh syllables correctly. Try counting 1 to 10 before you start talking and try to talk slowly. think before you talk. practice by loudly talking to the walls in a closed room. Observe how charecters in your favourite serial deliver their speech. practice with them.

everyone makes silly mistakes, there's no way around them, the best thing to do is learn to accept the fact that you are going to make mistakes, and learn to laugh them off
