You poor thing! I know how that feels. You need to make sure that you can demonstrate that you're responsible. Could it be financial too? Dogs can be expensive.
Maybe you should spend some time researching a breed that would be suitable for your yard, family, etc. Research cost of the dog, where you could get it, how much it'd cost to feed/vaccinate etc. and list all the marvellous benefits that dogs have. Once you've done all your research try discussing this with your parents. You will have an answer for every question they throw at you!!! good luck :)

Well, I keep thinking if something happens to mine, I would want another one, THEN I think about all the hassle I would NOT have anymore of not having a place for her to stay when I am out of town----or having less dog hair in the house and dander in the air, and so on.
REALLY think about it, 'cos they are time consuming. Why don't you hug on your siblings-especially if YOU are the one bringing them up.

If you hug on them now, they will be very loving when they get older and YOU would have helped!!

I just had an idea!! Why don't you tell them dog stories until you feel better about your dog. Great memories is a wonderful thing, so share the stories, or make them up.

I agree with Kaska.
Losing a pet is often like losing a member of the family.

Perhaps your parents are also trying to protect you from the heartbreak of losing another one. I'm not a parent, but I've seen kids react to the loss of a pet and it's terribly sad.

Sit down and write your parents a letter. Explain to them that you miss the companionship you shared with your dog. Give them reasons that having a new pet would be good for you.
I wouldn't discuss the heartbreak you felt when you lost your last dog, as that will say to them "I'm not ready for another one."

Tell them you're ready for the responsibility, but if they're going to keep telling you no, then you deserve to know why.

Best of luck!

Thats the problem of humans. They buy a pet look after it well and when it dies they cry a lot . If u want to have a pet ,at the same time u should be ready to lose it also . We dont know when things come and go. There is no thing in this world which is permanent. When one living organism enters in this world it should leave this world one day.So i suggest u dont buy another pet .When u buy another one and one day it has to die naaa..........again u will cry for it.

They may be just as upset as you are over the dogs death. And unfortunately some people refuse to get another pet due to the pain of losing one. This is why I prefer multiple pets. While it hurts like heck it is much easier to eventually get another pet.

My advise is keep begging. Ask for a small dog.

Their stalling you cause they don't want to have another dog and don't want to say no to you.
