According to a book called "Will it freeze?" by Joan Hood, both brocolli and cauliflower can be frozen after blanching. They recommend three minutes in boiling water followed by immediate cooling in ice water to stop the cooking process.
The brocolli can be saved up to a year, the cauliflower 6 months.

You can blanch broccoli and cauliflowers so they would be pre-cooked, like you get at the store, but you can also just wash them and bag them. I would suggest freezing them with dry ice because then you won't get any ice crystals forming. And be sure that they are perfectly dry before you freeze them, either way. If you do blanch them, dunk them in cold water right after you put them in water to stop the cooking process.

Oh my god, some of those answers have done my head in! I would blanch the florets or steam for no more than 2 minutes then refresh in cold water. I think if you put them straight in the freezer they get a freezer-burn type effect then they go brown when they're cooked. Don't forget to drain all the water off, and seal them in freezer bags, removing as much air as possible. Just don't eat too much before a hot date....
