This question stereotypes men. As one of these men who dont fit in your generalised statement I am both relieved and a bit annoyed
In my relationship with my girlfriend, (have been going strong for 2 and a half years now) I do not control at all. We prefer to comprimise on our differences. We have never really argued (and by which I mean throwing stuff at each other and storming out the house), we just dicuss our issues like the civilised people we are. I could easilly take advantage of her trust and our mutual understanding, but I dont. Why? Because I love her
If the guy in your relationship controls you, he obviously doesnt respect you the way you should be respected. So all you women who bad talked your guys, your men are either immature, disrespectful or too hyped up in their machoism. Mind you, alot of relationships actually continue to go on with this. Maybe you should stop ignoring the problems or, discuss the issues or, continue to enjoy the ups and downs. Do what makes you happy

In Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, the author describes men's personalities in terms of them being cave dwellers.
They often do not emote all over the place, but just wish to sit in the back of the cave.
Today caves take all shapes and sizes, the evening paper, the den, the game console, the tv. the message is the same, I do not want to interact - resting.
That said they do come out and their need for emotional support is as great as a womans' in every way.
My suggestion, leave them in the cave a while, then tempt them out . . . .
We can always be tempted.

Not all men. Just some. Find another one who isn't controlling or moody. They do exist. I know, I've got one. He's lovely, most of the time.

I honestly don't think its all women, anymore. You are right, they are so moody. I tell my husband, he must be on his period sometimes too! LOL I don't think they are worse than women, but they sure as hell are catching up.
About the controlling thing, don't let them!

Men and women are different to some extent. They have their own merits and demerits. Men want temporary satisfaction whereas women like lasting relationships. Men are dominant whereas women may be co-operative. We have to understand the uniqueness of men and women and make efforts to utilise that understanding to make our relationships lasting and filled with love and understanding. As far as love and relationships are concerned women score better than men. But women may be lagging in some other aspects where men score better. Overall, both genders of people are equally good or bad. What is important is each one has to play his/her part to make human relationships sweet and rewarding.

Why are we moody? We need three basic things to make us happy.
1. SEX (if we aint gitting enough then we aint happy)
2. Food (again see #1)
3. Sleep (see #1)
If these needs are being met we are happy. That is why a lot of men cheat.

i truely am a firm believer, although men do not bleed, i think they still have pms.... they are controlling b/c that is what is expected by society, you know: men, control, providers.... it is a macho thing dated back to cave men.... however it is fun to let them think they are the ones in control when actually they are so predictable taht you can set things up to come out gravy, just how ya want.... good luck to yall!

Tradition i guess. We have to control, its built in, its just nature! Actually i believe we deserve sympathy as we have no control over this controlling thing. It takes time and a lot of effort but i guess one of us has to do it and i should imagine we are the best for the job.

Because they are hormonal also. And most hide their feelings to the point of frustration and that is what makes them be controlling. That is the only way they can deal with their own pain, instead to talking it out.
