At last well said,no religion is a great idea,i've been saying this for years,as they are only brain washed into believing in something that is just not there, man has always wanted to believe that there was a god of some kind since man began,i can understand it at the very beginning but not now,all it has ever done is cause wars, hatred and destruction of man himself,it should all be abolished, then we may live in PEACE

That would be like having no stop and go lights and no others warning lights. The train is coming and everyone does their own thing. Todays religionist seem to pick and chosse what they like from the Spiritual guide books. It is very dangerous to ignore good sound spiritual guides. In fact it is deadly.
Is the best Government no Government?
No laws
No rules
No tax
No public service
No welfare
My point is that religion is a great source of comfort and stability if ...if ....if IF it is followed in truth and principle. Gods
Spiritual truth...not Human Truth...big different

No religion... hmmm... do you mean no religiousity, or no religious insititutions, or no faith?

If you mean no religiousity then I think the world would be a better place as a lot of the misconceptions about religions come from those who espouse religiousity.

If you mean no religious insititutions (like the Catholic church or the Bhudist organisations) then you would be on more shakey ground as these insitutions do have a practical place in peoples lives. On the otherhand without the uber insitutions (like the Church of Rome) people would be freer in their faith.

If you mean no faith then I would have to disagree as all humans need to have faith in an ideal (whether scientific or religious).

Most organised religions have their detractors and it can be argued that they were invented by men to help control the masses.
However the man without principles is still a child and not yet a man. Religions teach principles and philosophy, and it is human nature to believe (have faith) in something. The best religion has to be the one that suits you yourself and your principles beliefs and aspirations. Choose wisely for your choice will affect you for the remainder of your life.

Does it matter? Atheist and agnostics seem to have a bigger agenda than the Jehovah Witness. Here's how this question will play out: Christians will answer one way and get a couple thumbs down, couple up, atheist will answer another way with the same results, and in the end you will pick the most atheistic answer. In the mean time all sorts of idiots have been given an outlet to spout their own form of the same old drivel you always see in one of these predictable boring *** questions.

It all depends on the person. I am 100% faith free and I get along just fine. On the other hand I have met people who have had terrible lives until they "found Jesus" or whatnot and they turned themselves around. I truly think that it's them doing it themselves, but they needed a "higher power" to be responsible for it due to low self-image. The point is religion works for some and not for others, just like everything else.

No, because one of the signs of the true religion is that they agree in all things, from one congregation to the next, anywhere on the planet. The Apostles formed congregations, which had no rituals. They were not places of worship, they were places of learning. Worship is personal and done without an audience.

No religion.

normal, well adjusted people can make the right decisions between good and bad, right and wrong etc. They dont need a set of outdated doctrines to make the decisions for them. If they want to live well balanced and normal lives, then we as human beings are more than capable of doing that.

the total mess we in globally right now, is all thanks to religion. All the wars throughout history have been grounded in religious intolerances. People going to war over who has the best imaginary friend.

All religions are exclusionist to a certain extent and it is this fact that is at the root of our world problems. Religion is toxic.

Yes and No

Yes ! Because it is personal, and should not be any public debates about religious influences affecting policies.

No, because it is a individuals right to believe in what they want, as long as they do not interfere with anther's free choice.

The best religion is Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Or, Liberté, égalité, fraternité on the other side of the pond.
Add to that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and you've got it.
