My dog was diagnosed with a rare form of oral cancer, a large tumor on his lower gum. We've twice had it removed for comfort reasons, and in the process he lost a lot of teeth. The vet said the dog had about 6 months. That was 18 months ago. The dog appears fine. He is a large (190 lb) neo mastiff. He still eats, plays, loves. Do you think dogs have the power to go on, and love like people???

Unconditionally, undeniably, and indubitably! They have a overwhelming spririt and love that I feel goes beyond human comprehension.

It has been said that dogs (animals) are dumb, because no matter how badly they are treated, they still continue to, love, trust, and seek we humans out.

I do think so and I do truly believe they love better than people. They love unconditionally and they love you all the time. No matter what you look like, what you feel like they love and worship you still. I can not tell you how many times my dog picked up on my emotions when no one else did. They might not understand like us they just know and do. My brother recently passed away, he had a Pit Bull which he got when he was diagnosed with a rare cancer. This dog was his saving grace, he never left his side even when this got awful. A week before my brother died the dog would go and shake under his bed, and when my brother passed away the dog howled for ever. He has never been the same. Shortly after my brother died the dog got deathly sick, my mom took care of the dog and pleaded with it not to die. He was the last thing my mom had left of my brother. Even though the vets said he would not make it he did, and i believe he did it for my mom.

study the question yet did not actually answer. My first idea depending on the first incident with the grandmother changed into that this dogs is spoiled, somewhat possessive and given no structure/barriers. Why else would he snap at someone who's usual with who changed into in his proprietor's room and attempting to flow her/his laptop? Greek and One trick are perfect, dogs are animals, domesticated animals, yet animals who nevertheless very a lot imagine and behave in some techniques like their wild opposite numbers. Odds are sturdy the dogs acted out in different techniques hostile to the grandmother throughout the time of that previous visit and for the reason that no man or woman were given on him about it he pushed his success at the same time as she got here to visit the subsequent time. at the same time as I do trust some scents on human beings can get a unfavourable reaction i don't think of it somewhat is the undertaking right here a lot in that the first time around the dogs had no issues with her. If it changed into me my dogs would were on locked down earlier grandma even confirmed. my breed isn't a "social" breed. they don't take nicely to strangers till they see that their proprietors are pleased with that man or woman, yet when reality be counseled I nevertheless would not favor my dogs interacting with someone who isn't round frequently without me being there to oversee. now on the off danger it managed to get thus far that the dogs bit someone? once way vacation to the vet.

Yes. If you look at all of the dogs who come from horrible homes and situations...many of them have the power to go on and love again. That's more than I can say about most humans. Many come from a horrible background, and are damaged goods.

I personally believe that dogs are about 99% love and the rest is hunger. Yes, you are right in your assumption. I hope your furry family member stays healthy for many more years. Sounds like he is receiving loads of love from you too!

I think dogs are just like us when it comes to cancer or anything else. I would get a second opinion. I think if a dog has the will to live, he will! Good luck to you and your dog. I will pray for him.
He is a survivor already.

oh absolutely!!! Especially a mastiff...they're such lovey dogs, and people pleasers! He's probably just one of those babies that decided he doesn't want to leave his people yet...he loves you too much! I have a dog like that too...very resilient...and baffling the vets. As long as he's active, eating, eliminating outside and acts like he's not in any pain then enjoy your baby for as long as you may have him! I love hearing stories like this....the dog that defies odds! hehe! It has everything to do with how much he's loved and how much he loves you! (((hugs to the puppy dawg)))

No,they are INCAPABLE! Because they are DOGS!

Vets always under-estimate the odds so as to try to prepare the animals owners for the ULTIMATE outcome-death.

IF the dog is approximating "normal" life, leave him alone.
But...PLEASE,do NOT make it suffer for your selfish feelings.
