Yes I believe it is a hate crime, it just does not usually get the publicity that other “hate crimes” receive. Makes you wonder how the media chooses what they publish.

All crimes should be vigorously prosecuted no matter who the victim is or the perpetrator is. That video is a lot one sided but I know it was meant to be.Many more people have died too not just white.I am white and I live in Arizona and I don't live in fear for my life.
Hate doesn't have a race or a color, its blinded by rage and ignorance. oh and 90% of people that become enraged when fired and come back and shoot up the place are white, not black

I think the rights are out there for both sides but I don't think that whites play the race card as much as black people. And even more so in the work place. Believe me I'm not racist at all. I don't care what the color of anyone's skin is. ALL employers are WAAAY more careful when firing a black person than a white person. White people don't consider it a racial thing I guess either that or we don't care. It seems like black people use that as an excuse as to why something bad happened to them. I used to work for a guy that fired a black guy because he came into work drunk twice. The first time he wrote him up and made him sign something about being written up and the 2nd time he fired him and the black guy filed a racial lawsuit against him even though he knew why he was fired. The case was thrown out.

Cliffpotts is correct any crime done to a person with a statement or specific action in regard to it happening because of ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, gender, age etc......
Is categorized at a hate crime.
If the statement is based on race then an additional charge of racial wrong action will be applied.

I haven't a clue. But I do agree, if there was a hate crime committed against a white person..something should be done. This to me is very similar to domestic violence against men.

Yes, it is. I know of one case a few years ago where a black man shot a white man, as he pulled the trigger he said something to the effect of "you, G*d**n, cracker." He was charged with murder, and additional charges included commission of a hate crime. I lost track of the case after that. I do believe he was convicted of all charges, and was give life without parole. It occurred in one of the North Eastern States.

Hate crimes affect race, sexual orientation, and even gender. If you kill someone for what they are you get charged with a hate crime.
