Reading, taken the time to listen to people with different views on the same subject. If you find something you are interested in, research it. Knowledge is a tool and the more of it you have, the better off you are.

Take about 10% of what you see, hear or read in the regular media. Add 80% common sense, then research it and believe about 50% of what you find.

Also, set some goals and go to some classes. if your out of school, go to the Vo-tech, or a Junior College. Education is very important so, be like a sponge, soak in all the information you can.

Reading is a good start. Understanding is even more help. Getting out there and trying different things is good for all. Always be sure to pay attention to what is happening around you. Watch people and listen very carefully to what people say. Ask questions and be willing to accept other ideas.

Do not believe until there is good reason to believe. Even those well schooled tend to be very radical so when they wright of speak do no take it as gospel. Many well schooled people are ignorant.

Pick one topic at a time and do as much research as you can about it. Online, the library, asking people, watching specials, renting videos/dvds about it, writing what you know about it, taking notes, taking classes on it, etc.

If you try to cram yourself with everything or too much at once you will completely burn yourself out and grow disinterested.
