At one time I believed in this theory.

I still believe that we cannot have population explosion, but some controlled slow steady growth is required to sustain the economy and the good readily available services.

Less population mean less demand for goods and services. This itself can translate to unemployment. In emergency service sector, we will find people ideal, but at the same time they are needed, hence cost of service will go up with respect to utilisation.

PS

Some advance countries already have achieved zero population growth, and are doing fine but they still have inflation and cost increases in all sectors.

Population itself is not a problem, but uneven distribution of population and resources on earth is a problem.Countries with plenty of resources have less population and countries having lack of them have most of the population.
