I think most of the recent terrorist acts (excluding those of George Bush) have been perpetrated by Muslims, thus most people are fearful when they see a Muslim carrying a backpack on the London Tube. --Tell me thats prejudice or common sense taking over.
I know that most Muslims are not terrorists as there are many in UK and about 3million in USA. The problem is that the Muslims are not standing up and saying they are against the terrorists, nor are many being shopped to the police. That tells a story to the non-muslims - thats reality not prejudice!!
Until the so called peace loving (as shouted out on a regular basis) Muslims take action against the murdering bastards in their midst, people will react in fear against those who may be the nicest people in the world.
There have been too many dogs bitting people and more growling that they will do so. Many bleeding heart liberals will say we have to treat them right and allow them a "voice". If I shouted out hate and violence on a street corner, I think I would soon be arrested but the police are being handicapped by the PC brigade. Create a separate police force with the sole purpose of wiping out these scum (not the PC brigade)

If thats what the Muslims read then its the most vile abuse of others I have read. It basically says that anyone other than Muslim should be killed - or am I reading this wrong? Dont want to believe any religion can follow such evil.

i would say this is due to several reasons:
1) peoples ingnorance. Many people simpley assume that they know everything about Islam and that it is bad. Yet they have probabley never read anything on the subject.
2) The media. Since the terrorist attacks the media as associated them with Muslims and because many people believe what the newspapers say, they therfore conclude that muslim - terrorist.
3) people are sacred of the unknown. People do not know anything about Islamic beliefs and so they becaome sacred of Islam.
4)stereotypes. Just becaude one terrorist was a Muslim, all terrorists are muslims. sadly our society far too frequently believes this stereotype.

Hi there i know what you mean and i agree with you,as you always get good and bad where ever you live,and whatever your colour and race,i think it mostly the sheer fear of the bad ones that really does put the FEAR in us all,as i'am sure that there are some really nice Muslims out there,for example my son is backpacking at the moment and is in India,where he stayed with a Muslim family on a house boat,he said that they were very kind people,and very helpful,so i really feel for the good Muslims that are out there,i have no religion and neither do i want one as all it has caused is wars and hatred,but thanks for a very justified question

I think the incident recently with the Pope is an example why people are beginning to realize that most Muslim societies are in fact violent.

Freedom of speech is violently demonstrated not by just Muslim fanatics but encouraged by their religious leaders, government bodies, and the private business owners.

This incident proved the reality of the Muslim world for me.

The load of crap exists within their cultural, governmental, and religious structures.

There are two types of people in this world. Those that dichotomize, and those that don't. Not all people think that all Muslims are terrible people. Like a lot of things there is a huge grey area with Muslims as well as with Christians and Jews. All 3 religions pride themselves on being peace loving religions, but in reality most wars are caused by religious differences and most of those differences include either Christians, Muslims, Jews, or all 3. In my opinion, these folks need to examine their purported beliefs and clean house of these fringe extremists.

Also, ignorance is a bliss. Looking into the search statistics of Google for the word 'islam' shows that the majority of people who actually wanna know what this religion says, all live in muslim countries.

Muslims continue to commit MURDER IN THE WEST ON NON-MUSLIMS and there is not a word from the Muslim community against this.
