Its got everything to do with the way they are raised. If their mother would have had some respect for herself, they would have passed it on to their daughters. Most black and Hispanic families however do not carry self respect so their children have the same outlook. This accounts for their promiscuous life style as well. This is why they also care less about education and success in life.

Historically, the most powerful social classes have tended to control and define our ideologies, including the ways in which we feel people should behave.
White people of course are not a class per se, but in many countries they tend to dominate in the ruling class (for historical reasons eg their ancestors invaded the said country). So our definitions and understanding of correct behaviour tends to flow from the culture of white people and the rich (ie, these definitions and understandings are racist and classist). The capitalist class also has a stronger interest than do other social classes in maintaining conservative gender roles - and for this reason, it's those who have very little hope of becoming part of the capitalist class (eg Black and Latino women) who are most likely to break from the conservative social definitions of how women should behave. And more power them, say I!

Your question shows a definite ignorance and lack of class on your own part. Black and Hispanic women have a different culture than yours, and different does not mean wrong! People wear clothes and make up differently all over the world, and it certainly does not make their social class any different. I am assuming you are white. They would look ridiculous in your make up!!! You very well may, as well! I know many black and hispanic women, and each one is beautiful and sophisticated in their own way.

Xcybergypsyx: this is the year 2006, but your mindset is still in the 1700's. Please wake up darling, and travel more. What you will learn and experience will surprise you.
Class is not related to race. Or like Bigblackstrikersback wrote: Jerry Springer's show can show you what poor upbringing is. Not satisfied? How about going to your local welfare office, observe the people there? Some obviously take extreme advantage of that system.
Wake up, dahlin'.

How can you say black woman lack class when you are not asking a classy question. You probably don't have an education. I am a black classy woman with two degrees and my own business. I bet you do not have these things so you tell me who's lazy? I am only 22. If you knew me It would not be the same, you would probably be my new maid to clean one of my condos. Please educate yourself before you ever ask another dumb question.

Just so your not smacked in the teeth too hard on this one, here you go hun. Its culture, the MTV culture. In society of the west today, its cool or hip to look and speak this way. I have to say, I'm not for this myself, however I don't judge as I grew up in the 80's when men dressed as women, and women tried to dress as football players in heels. Its a phase as everything else really is. Just sit back and watch, within six months or so, something else will pop up that is cool, and this will fade away like the skateboarders ermm skank look, the hammer time look, and all the others hun. Just please don't be so judgmental of someone's culture ok.

What if i was to generalise...ok lets do that then...shall we? hmm...Why is it that there are so many unclassy women in America and only 10 percent of America is Black. Black women rae only in a few states...u know, DC, New York and so on and so fort. Well that must mean the other 90% of unclassy women are like trailor trash white women right...u started it love.
What would you say about women such as Maya Angelou, Selena, Angella Basset, Rosa Parks, Fannie Lou Hamer, Condoleezza Rice, Ellen Ochoa (latino astronaut),Dolores Huerta (co founder of united farm workers)...you may wanna re think darling.
I see the idea that whites are superior is still very much alive and kicking in the for of U. Its ok though, that doesn't affect me in any way shape or form, I know i have class, determination and suffistication. I just hope you can have that some day. I'll pray for you until then.

You are mistaking race and class. You must be around a lot of low class blacks and latinos. Maybe you live next to a poor area? If you look at blacks and latinos that are NOT low class they would not act low class. Same thing goes for whites and every other race.
Do you get it?
Race does not equal class. Class is often determined by economic and educational factors, not race.
