That is how it is, they are competing with each other for everything and mainly your attention. I know how maddeinignit can be but think of this. When they are grown and gone you will long for that shouting once again in the silence of your empty nest so take an asprin if you must but do try to get over it and find a way to enjoy them because time goes by faster than you think and those kids driving you mad won't be with you forever they will be grown and gone much faster than you will want. Remember: These ARE the good old days. What I would not give for the noise and madness of children in the house again

My children are the same way. I think it just part of being siblings. The younger one look up to the older ones and want to do everything they do. The older ones don't like the little ones to copy there every move. Also, each one thinks that the other is getting treated better than they are. Both of these cause so many conflicts with children.

This is because of competition for resources including

you(your time and attention), money, toys, computers, tvs, friends

giving two young boys a toy to play with and telling them to share will never work because one will always take more than the other and the one who gets less will shout+ complain.

As parents you either have to get them one each or more commonly act as the police to settle disbutes.

I got along with my brother, I adore the guy! But then again that was a conscious decision on my part, i remember when I was about eleven years old and we were getting in the car and he'd just shoved me or something and I remember thinking, if I were nice to him, then perhaps he'll be nicer to me? So for about two weeks it was hell because I was being so nice to him and he was just being a b@stard but then things went fine, and have been so ever since.
Why don't you suggest that to your kids? Let them know that they'll get something out of it?

I hear ya, sister. Mine argue constantly. Nothing yet has made an impression on them, other than separating them physically in the house. I don't like to do that, though, because I want them to be able to sort things out.

I'm not too, too worried because my brother and I fought constantly, and became good friends once we became adults (age 18ish).

some siblings get on, why don't you try finding something fun for them to do, and if anyone starts arguing take them away to another room and leave the other siblings to get on with it if they are behaving - they might get the message that its more fun to try and get on. But quite honestly, siblings will always argue, but as they get older they might get on better because they will become more mature and understanding of each other - its what happened with my sisters - we often argued when we younger but generally as I got older I got on better with them.

Because you can't choose your family.

Clashing personalities, people you wouldn't normally choose as friends...all thrown into one house together. Its like Big Brother but scarily more real.

Siblings tend to get on more when they get older and mature...but its natural that they won't while they're growing up.
