Viral exanthems are a group of viral disorders that usually has fever and would manifest soon after with skin rashes. Examples of which are measles, roseola infantum and chicken pox.

An exanthem is a skin rash, as opposed to enanthem, which is a rash on a mucous membrane. Some viral exanthemata in children are measles, German measles (rubella), chicken pox, roseola infantum and erythema infectiosum (fifth disease).
