Herpes zoster, or shingles, is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After an episode of chickenpox, the virus becomes dormant in the body. Herpes zoster occurs as a result of the virus re-emerging after many years.
The cause of the re-activation is usually unknown, but seems to be linked to aging, stress, or an impaired immune system. Often only one attack occurs, without recurrence.(MedlinePlus)
Generally, the immune system suppresses reactivation of the virus. In the elderly, whose immune response generally tends to deteriorate, as well as in those patients whose immune system is being suppressed, this process fails. (Some researchers speculate that sunburn and other, unrelated stresses that can affect the immune system may also lead to viral reactivation.) The virus starts replicating in the nerve cells, and newly formed viruses are carried down the axons to the area of skin served by that ganglion (a dermatome). Here, the virus causes local inflammation in the skin, with the formation of blisters.(Wikipedia)

If it is the initial infection, you get chicken pox. The body immune system reacts to fight it, at which point one of two things happen. Either your immune system is able to completely rid the body of the virus, or before it is able to , the virus is able to insert itself into a nerve of the body and enter the inactive state. Since it is inside of one of your own cells, the immune system is unable to detect it. The zoster virus will remain inside the nerve cell in an inactive state until something occurs to reactivate the infection. The common term for a reoccurence of the infection is called shingles. Shingles will occur on the surface of the skin under control of that particular nerve or nerve bundle. It normally occurs on the trunk, usually around the mid section, in the back or on the stomach- but can occur anywhere on the body. It is more likely to happen in older people, whose immune systems are not as strong or active, or at any time the immune system is being challenged. There are several groups who have more information available on the web- just type in shingles and you will find all the further information you need or want. There is no treatment to prevent shingles, beyond immunization to prevent the initial infection. Once you are infected, a reoccurence is always a possibility. There are drugs used to make limit the amount of time the skin is affected, and to make the person more comfortable until they heal- but no sure shot cure.

I solved completly my herpes problem following this method: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=415

I've have been suffering from herpes for over 4 years. I tried everything, of course I went to the doctor about a hundred times, probably not that many, but it sure seems like it. It never did any good for long and caused all kinds of other issues having to do with taking too many antibiotics.

I know the feelings of helplessness, isolation and real longing to be rid of herpes. I really didn?t think I would ever be rid of the virus. I thought that I would have to live the rest of my life without any lasting intimacy.
I was lost in a sea of despair. This was because my doctor told me that I would need to be on drugs for the rest of my life. He also said to forget about ever having sex with anyone ever again. After hearing this I was very angry. There had to be something I could do. So I decided to see if I could find another way to deal with my herpes.

After a lot of research I decided to try to follow this method http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=415

The book details a unique method of actually killing viral pathogens responsible for the herpes virus as well as a quick and natural method for healing herpes blisters. After reading the book and taking action in just two days the blisters were gone. I haven't had an outbreak in 2 years. Herpes is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI). There are 2 types of herpes, Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) and Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2). The symptoms for HSV-1 normally occur around the mouth while the symptoms for HSV-2 occur around the genitals. Nevertheless, both types of herpes can be transmitted to the genital and mouth areas. Herpes is often spread through sores. Most people often experience some form of sensation, including itching and tingling before they observe anything on the skin Modern medicine is mostly all about maintenance of the disease because big pharmaceutical companies are calling the shots. Hooking people on pharmaceuticals means recurring money the big drug companies. They, in turn, pay the doctors to keep writing prescriptions ?Don?t look for a real help here. Good luck!

I learned I had herpes type 2 around 5 years ago, when I was still in college and had a foolish one-night affair. I think many ladies say this but believe me I never did that sort of thing. I jus made an error that one time and, all of a sudden, it seemed like I was going to have to live with the burden for the rest of my life. The sad part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to be intimate with a woman who has blisters around her you-know-what? But after somebody shared this website https://tr.im/HerpesCurejwj , everything has changed. Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than 2 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met my sweetheart and I'm so glad to write that just last week, in front of a lot of people in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program offered me the chance to be happy again, and to experience true love.

Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.
