I have had 3 cats. Cat's do not smell bad at all. They only time that they will start to smell is if they get into garabe outside(only if there is fish in it.) or if they encounter a skunk. But other than that cats are known for cleaning themselves quite well and they don't smell. Their cat boxes might, you just have to make sure that you clean it out everyday. And after they eat their breath may smell like the cat food, but its not a gross smell. However, male cats at about a year old may start to spay. It then makes your home smell as if your cat has went to the bathroom everyone. All you would have to do to fix that is to get your male cat fixed. And you would have to replace your carpet if you have carpet. And super clean where ever he had spayed. And if the cat happens to go to the bathroom in your house then make sure that you go and get the cat cleaner stuff to use and clean the area that was messed on. You are able to give your cat or kitten a bath to help keep them clean, also. So that may help.

A healthy cat normally does not smell bad. Bad smelling breath and fur is almost a sure sign of disease. You need to take the cat to the vets. They can do a simple blood test to determine the cause and treat it.

A good smelling cat still smells like a refrigerator that badly needs baking soda.

If they do smell, it is because they are very ill and cannot clean themselves. There is cat shampoo that is especially formulated for them and will make their coat shine and moisturize their skin. Do do use human products an any animal unless directed by a vet!

The only smells come from the cat's waste and the breath. They are generally extremely clean animals and there is no need to give them a bath as they do it themselves.

Cats that stay ouside might stink. I have have a house cat, and I love to smell him. I think that cats smell good. I'm not the only person like that either, one of my friends loves the way her cat smells too.

I personally don't smell anything from my cats as they are constantly washing themselves but my mother keeps insisting that my clothes smell of them.Again I smell nothing but surely it would disappear when I wash my clothes.

Cats themselves don't smell bad, they are very clean animals. The litter box smells, and if you have a male that is "of age" and not fixed he may spray inside and it's a smell you can't get rid of!
