If your house is in a big city and build before 3 years.(2003). You can view your house better from a distance of (eye at) 1000 to 1500 feet height. For better view, set your computer to full screen (Press F11), screen to 1280x1024 pixels, colour quality 32 bit with VGA card.
You can even measure the area also. (Approximately with 90 to 95% accuracy).

Yes. Definitely.
But if you live in a Big City, you can see the satelite pictures more clearly than pictures collected from a small or mid-size city.
believe or not, Some people even captured "a sun-tanning naked girl" from Goole Earth.

Well it actually depends on where you stay. If you stay in a prime city in a country. Than is possible to even see your building. Well i live in Mumbai India. I can see my building and also my school and it school buses.

go and see for yourself why ask unnecessary questions? If your home is new it won't show cuz I don't think that they updated in 3 years. also it doesn't allow to zoom in on some places

yes - depending on if you are in hi resolution area, a lot of areas are still low res
