Well Mitch, the Jewish sabbath doesn't start until Friday night at 6 PM, and doesn't end until 6 PM Saturday night.

Technically, on these days they are to rest, and study the first 5 books of the bible, they are to eat prepaired meals- to work on the sabbath is a big "no-no" and some Jews take this to ludricus extreems- such as answering the phone is a form of work, so they make special "kosher" phones that use light beams instead of switches so you can talk to them during this time!

Its called the Sabbath Friday Sundown to Saturday Sundown. Even Christians had that as the Sabbath, but over time it has been changed to Sundays for services in most churches, with Catholics being offered a Saturday early evening Mass.

For both Jews and Muslims, the fridays are like their Sundays. Times to pray special prayers.

I think they have the Sabboth on a Saturday, on this day they can't do anything so they prepare everything on a Friday, meals etc, If I am wrong I apologise to Jewish people, it's just something I saw on TV and what I remember.
