The basic things which blind the mind are
Kama= Lust, Krodha =anger, Lobha = covetousness
Moha= infatuation, Mada = pride, Matsarya = jelousy.
So long as any of the six remains in man he will not be able to find God. All other emotions are mixture or compounds of these six. Two other Items required to find God is Satya =Truth and absolute truth and Dharma = righteousness.
Socrates found god by adhering to these two principles.
His immortality proves it.

They can not tolerate the fact that there are moral guidelines that should be followed. They do not want anyone in authority telling them what to do or not do. If there are no rules then there are no consequences. They think that the sincerity of their beliefs will shield them from any judgement. They also think that the variety in religions cancels out any chance of one of them being right, and the imperfections of any believers proves that God could not exist.
I'm sorry if this seems judgemental to some of you, but most if not all of this came straight from unbelievers that I know or have read comments from on this site.

So Many Believers' Inability to Demonstrate That Their Faith Improved Them Instead of Making Them Enormously Arrogant and Intolerant as well as Ignorant and Primitivistic
And for twits that demonize unbelievers as amoral, where's your evidence that believers are not? Your most public leaders are adulterers, whore mongers, child molestors, frauds and thieves.

I couldn't answer that because I never had blindfolds on to God, but only removed to circumstances a while back-well they fell off for the bare truth to be visible-a free mind travels far, and the further I travelled the closer to God I become

Religion and churches blind people so that they will never find 'god'. We are all part of 'god' and can create heaven here on earth.

The same thing that has blinded us forever, science, education, free thinking, common sense. Possibly intelligence but I know a lot of very bright people that buy into the fairy tale.

Intelligence is usually a deal killer for beliefs that rely completely on ignorance & superstition.
