why not? because he simply wasn't.

it REALLY is that simple.

http://www.jewsforjudaism.org/ that site has a page specifically explaining why jesus was not the messiah.

also remember that the jewish messiah was NOT meant to be god incarnate, god's son(any more than all men are) or anything like that.

the jewish messiah is to be a king, a regular man. not a sacrifice, not half-god, not anything like that.

Judaism did not, and does not need a "spiritual" savior, because we already HAVE that. from god himself.

Nope... the main reason is because he didn't do what the messiah was supposed to do.

Until Christians changed the mission of the messiah to world salvation, his purpose was to restore the promised land to the children of Israel.

The United Nations did that in the 1940's. Honest... it wasn't done until nearly 2000 years after Christ's death. Why would they believe Jesus was/is their messiah? One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty something years is a lot of time to wait.

None that I've heard of before him. But there are now and will be plenty more faking his return. I just wonder what the jews were expecting and what they would accept as a messiah. If healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding thousands of people with one small meal, and walking on water doesn't cut it for them, then what will?

They don't believe their Messiah has come the first time yet. While Christians await the 2nd coming of Christ...Jews are still waiting for "their Messiah" to come for the first time.

Great question!

Please consider these tidbits:

Jews for Jesus = Vegetarians for Hamburgers

God? He or She?

Church? Christianity? Jesus? Dying?

What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?

Does Imacculate Conception have anything to do with "VIRGIN BIRTH"?

Google Imacculate Conception and learn that is NOT.

What else do you falsely believe?

Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Can Gods die?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?

No Eternal sacrifice, big deal for a day!

If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

Life after death is like virginity after childbirth.

If the flesh of Jesus died, what was seen walking and talking on Sunday?

If you believe this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to believe it too to validate you.

Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.

Believing and not thinking is like choosing to be lost.

P.S.

well as far as muslims are concerned in the quran jesus is often referred to as essa and messiah (healer) and son of virgin marium. also an incident has been referred to when name of the father was asked and jesus replied that he was rooh e allah.....which means it was soul of allah which created him in marie's womb and did not need a father.
